Cape May County Zoo is divided into three main exhibit areas: the Pathway to Diversity inter-continental animal exhibit, the World of Birds aviary, and the Amphibian and Reptile House. In all, the zoo contains over 500 animals from 200 species, including the endangered mountain bongo, snow leopard and red panda. It is part of the beautifully forested Cape May County Park, beside Great Sound, which contains many hiking and biking paths as well as fishing ponds.
